How To Train Your Dog To Guard The House
Many people today look to dog training to correct discipline problems or to train the new family puppy how to better obey simple commands. While it is essential to make sure your dog understands what you want them to do as an owner, there are farm many things dog training can do. Teaching dog obedience is probably the first step we all take with our new found four legged friends but this shouldn’t be your only goal. Dogs are capable of so much more. I’m not talking about turning your dog into one of those fru fru show pooches but teaching them to do what comes natural. Many of the dog breeds of today were meant for guard duty. German shepherds, Great Danes and Dobermans just to name a few were all primarily used to guard their owners property throughout history. There is nothing wrong with using dog training to enhance your pets natural instincts. I’m not telling you to go out and create an attack dog to crew up burglars like a police dog. Just consider adding a little extra focus in your obedience training to make your dog a better watchdog around the house.
